What is RoboBasket?

RoboBasket is a rule based file sorter for Windows. You can create some rules for your folders ( e.g. Desktop, Downloads) and let RoboBasket move, copy, rename, delete your files automatically.


I can only see Desktop folder when selecting path. What should I do?

This happens in some Windows 11 machine. Please download and upgrade to the latest version (version 3.8.1 or newer). It has been fixed.


Can RoboBasket process files in subfolders?

Yes. We have added this feature in Version 2. Click "Show Advanced Settings" in the folder tab and check the "Process files in subfolders" option.


How do I exclude files from being processed?

Click "Show Advanced Settings" in the folder tab then add files or folders to the "Don't Process The Following Files/Folders" list. RoboBasket will ignore the items in the list.


If the file is in use by another program, What will happen to this file when RoboBasket try to process it?

RoboBasket will just ignore the file and not take any action to it. RoboBasket will wait for the next round and try again.


How to backup my rules settings?

Click the "Backup Rules Settings" from the "Rules" menu. To restore rules settings click the "Restore Rules Settings".

How to upgrade RoboBasket?

To upgrade RoboBasket just follow the steps.

  • 1. Download the latest version
  • 2. Exit RoboBasket if it's running
  • 3. Uninstall the old version
  • 4. Install the new version


Can I use RoboBasket with Windows Scheduled Tasks?

Yes, just add the start parameter:
organize-and-exit
to RoboBasket when you set the scheduled task.
